» Centering on the Famed Indian Wrecking Crew - Bobby Hill, Bill Tuman, and Ernie Beckman

This segment takes place at these “County Fairground Horse Tracks” that were quickly being adapted to fit the needs of this emerging sport.

Covering the origins of American Motorcycle racing all the way through the post WWII craze known as Dirt Track this story will craft a story destined for Hollywood. This sport has boasted the ability to fill more seats with fans than that of baseball games of this era.

The center of the story focuses on 3 riders from the period, Bobby Hill, Bill Tuman and Ernie Beckman. These three riders took the track by storm, earning the coveted moniker “The Indian Wrecking Crew”.

Sit back as we listen to Bobby and Bill recount the days when they, along with the now deceased Ernie Beckman, mastered the track to become the winningest team of the era. Explaining this complex sport, we will move from the cushion to the blue-grove, from the riders to the bike’s setup.

Many current Champions credit the connection to Dirt Track as the key to their success and may not have reached the levels they did without it. Legends, such as Kenny Roberts Sr., state that in today’s computer controlled race atmosphere, this Dirt Track experience give the rider the ability to feel the bike and know the difference between tire grip and washing out of the race.

An intimate relationship you can only attain on the Dirt Track, a relationship that is imperative for being able to ride the bike to the limits and take home the trophy.
